Wax crayon on the blackboard!

Does anyone have any helpful tips?

DD got an easel for her birthday the other day. This morning I realised she was using a wax crayon instead of chalk on the blackboard side. Now theirs a residue that you can't draw over with the chalk. I've tried warm soapy water but it doesn't seem to have shifted it all!

Dry kitchen roll and rub.

Oil (wd40, sunflower oil etc) should get it off as wax crayons is not water soluble but I don't know how that would affect the board surface

Rubber gloves and boiling soapy water applied with a non stick scourer pad.

Brown paper and iron it on the blackboard surface. The paper will absorb the wax.

Yeah heat will work too.

Water on its own won't as was is not water soluble. A hair dryer should do it too and less intense than an iron.

Thank you fellow MNetters! Off to try it out now Smile
