I used to clean mine with kitchen roll and a bit of water and fairy liquid, but was told that using products on it is wrong from some reason, so now I just use hot water and kitchen roll (after scraping most of it off with the little scraping tool!)

I use hot water and washing up liquid. Mine doesn't have removable plates so I put it right by the sink and use a sponge to clean it.

wandawings · 08/12/2011 15:22

Spray water on it when it is still on/hot and the gunk tends to run off it for me with minimal scrapping.

Used to use Fairy Power Spray but it took all the non-stick off.
Now it's Cillit Bang and boiling water. Seems to work OK.

i just use the tool to scrape all the gunk off and while its hot use clean dish cloth thats been in hot soapy water easy!

cheap vegetable oil is great.

DO NOT USE METAL or wire souring pads. Sorry for shouting but i'm still fucking pissed off at MIL who fucked the one one i gave OH. It was the first present i got him that he really liked. and it's just fucked. Ok i should relax about it but she wants us to give her one for christmas! ok I'll relax now.

pour water on it while it is still hot but unplugged
then wipe down with kitchen roll

KizzyLizzy · 12/12/2011 18:49

Get a few sheets of kitchen roll, dampen (but not wringing wet) and while it's cooling down place on grill and shut lid for a minute or two. If softens all the baked on juices and grease and is a doddle to clean.

Dont use flash spray on it, takes the coating off
As I discovered grrrrrrrr Xmas Sad

lucytails · 13/12/2011 18:38

good suggestions. Spraying water whilst it is still warm sounds the way forward, thanks Xmas Smile
