Dry Clean only faux fur jacket. Anyone ever stuck one in machine at home?

Has anyone ever put a faux fur jacket through a washing machine cycle successfully?

Says dry clean only, but I have a gentle wash on my machine (although no idea what temp, doesn't display it Confused must be 30 degrees).

It's been rained on before and seemed to fluff up fine, but nothing like the total saturation a washing machine cycle would cause.

Also concerned about possible shredding.

It's a good quality Next one, very fine, soft fur, old though, about 13 years.

I have a faux fur Gilet type thing that is dry clean only. I got fed up of not wearing it and was too lazy to find a dry cleaner so I risked my gentle wash cycle and it has come out fine. That was a debenhams one.

Bumpy bump.

A few more like Charlie's above and I may risk it!!

I wash all my Faux Fur coats, including my Miss Selfridge Leopardskin which is 25 years old!

I also have a lot of Faux Fur fabrics, not the cheap stuff, but surplus stock from a top end designer.. all wash successfully apart from a long haired type that has a slight sheen.

Can you test a bit by washing it in the sink - say a bit of facing or something?
