Not exciting - a question about convection heating...

We've been to see a house today which we're thinking of moving to (renting) - it's pretty great except it has vents in the floor and walls (70s convection heating), not ordinary radiators like every other house we've rented. Can anyone tell me if convection heating is good/bad/shit/expensive/cheap? I've googled extensively but can't find much that's very helpful. It's a three bedroom place with single glazing.

Thanks!

We have a warm air heating system in our house which sounds the same. We have just replaced the heater as the 30 year old one finally gave up. It cost about £1500. We really like it as the heat is instant and it is very cheap to run. Our gas bill is £12 a month. I also like it as we don't have to sacrifice any wall space to radiators.

That's really encouraging, thanks!
