I think the only way I'll do it is if I have a timetable for the week and stick to it. And reward myself for sticking to it Grin

So I'm making a list of jobs. So far I have
Clean bathroom
Dust
Hoover
Change beds

I do washing and kitchen cleaning daily so I don't need to add them in.

What have I missed?

Ironing!

tbh I've never got on well with lists, i feel like i'm just setting myself up to fail if for some reason something doesn't get done when it 'should'.

I do a lot of stuff as I go and time permitting - I do hoover every day downstairs - have 3dcs and 4 cats, so that's fairly necessary. If you tidy away as you go - make sure kitchen is tidy and wiped down every evening, put away dry washing soon as you can etc - most things can be condensed into one blitz a week - i make use of the fact youngest dds are in playgroup three mornings a week and set aside one of those mornings to do ironing/clean bathroom/change beds etc.

Dusting?! what's that..........?!

I see ironing the way you see dusting polly. :)
I'm perfectly happily not ironing but the huge amounts of dust that have built up are starting to bug me.

My mother who is very organised yet raised a slatten puts big jobs on rotation. So she does the list you have made, then one week will clean windows and mirrors, the next will wash down tiles, the next wash down paintwork etc

Those jobs don't need doing weekly and by doing one 'big' job a week they end up getting done every 6 weeks or so.

...Or every 6 years or so in my house Xmas Grin

Oooo I love that big job idea!!

Whenisitmysleepytime · 07/12/2011 12:04

Big job idea is great! :)

So I don't need any other jobs on my list?
Brill!

I do my washing and kitchen cleaning jobs on a daily basis so that's sorted.

Just need to stop feeling sick and then I can get stuck in!
