I've scrubbed them (boak) and soaked them in bio wash powder and left them to dry but they still really smell. What else can I try??

Bicarbonate of soda??

Catsdontcare · 05/12/2011 19:30

Do you add it to water and soak?

I don't think so, you sprinkle it inside, leave it for as long as you can, then brush it out. It absorbs smells (I think).

I know it sounds mad but... cat litter. Seriously.

Catsdontcare · 05/12/2011 19:36

Will give it a try. Ds has football tomorrow night so haven't got time to soak and dry them before then anyway. Fecking cats!

Ok, I think a long while ago (over a year) there was something on Watchdog about football boots smelling of cats' wee. I don't know whether this is the smell you are talking about but my sons' boots abosolutely stank of cats' wee and the programme struck a chord with me. I happened to mention it on the touchline one day and a number of other mums said the same. I had thought our cats were to blame but apparently it is a manufacturing fault and there is nothing that can be done. My boys' new ones now smell too. I just shut them in a cupboard with a very tight door!!

absolutely

AnnoyingOrange · 05/12/2011 19:53

my ds's boot smell like cat pee too

Catsdontcare · 05/12/2011 20:14

Ooh that's funny I just asked dh to sniff them and he said it smelt too synthetic to be cat poo so I guess I'll sign ds up for ballet instead.
