How do you remove the smell of vomit from a sofa?

We have removed the fabric covers and put them in the washing machine. But the smell has gone through the covers and into the seat cushions. Febreze is just not doing it. Any ideas?

Bicarb of soda sprinkled on, left for a while and then vacuumed off might help.

Definitely bicarbonate of soda, but I prefer to spray it on as a solution. I use one of those plant mister/sprayer things

damp the cushions down first, then sprinkle with bicarb

let it dry then hoover off

i find white vinegar much better than bicarb for removing smells from fabric. i use white vinegar diluted 50:50 with water. the vinegar smell goes as soon as the fabric is dry.

I had this, and used about 3 pots of bicarb and just left it on for days, sofa under the covers was already damp but if yours isn't maybe spray it with a mister thing and then apply. Hth.
