Can anyone please recommend a handheld hoover? I have about £30-£40 to spend on it and have no idea what to get. Thanks.

Picked up a vax gator on Amazon for just over £30 a fortnight ago. Has about 15 min of good suction. Pretty powerful for picking thrown stuff up from under kitchen table, stairs or a quick whizz round the car.

I got mine from Amazon Warehouse. Was listed as used, like new but was in a sealed box.

Black&Decker Dust Buster is the only way to go.

Another vote for the Black & Decker DustBuster - there's currently one on offer in Asda. Not sure what model it is but I have the one that picks up liquids too & it's quite good, has about 10 mins of continuous vacuuming but also charges quite quickly.

Was just about to post same question... Which B&D model? (There seem to be a few online at the mo). The pivot one or the conventional. Any other recommends? Thanks!

I have the 3.6v model, and from looking at the instruction book it seems to be the secon best one. Comes with a little crevice tool & a rubber flap thing to pick up liquids. DP informs me they are currently on sale for £17 in Asda. Mine is great - use it in the car, in the kitchen for bread crumbs etc and when I'm too lazy to get the Hoover out.
