Hi there

Our old, extremely cheap and nasty cooker has died. I'm quite glad, to be honest, as I've wanted a new one for ages.

Cooker must be 90cm wide, dual fuel (gas hob/elec oven), pref not stainless steel as I think hard to keep clean. Less than £1K, but reliable.
Let me have your recommendations!
Many thanks,

We've had this one for about a year with no problems:
Leisure cooker
We did have to call the company once as we couldn't get the gas oven to work. They sent an engineer out v quickly but it turned out to be user error Blush

I've got a 90cm wide Smeg range cooker. I would seriously NOT recommend it!

the cooling fan was broken when it arrived and it was incredibly noisy, that got replaced then a year or so later a main fuse went and the main element blew up (engineer said they were two very unusual faults - knowing that didn't help much!), door seals also needed replacing. I ma very glad we got the extended warrantee!

Thanks, Grangemouth. I do like the look of that one. Is it easy to clean?

And I'll steer clear of the Smeg one - thanks for that bumpybecky

Anyone else?

I have the same one as Grangemouth had it 18 months, no problems except the little red lights on the front that tells you oven(s) are up to temperature both broke (the red plastic literally snapped off inside the oven). Was fixed with no issues. I suspect it was the vibrations from the washing machine when it was spinning that caused the damage - it does like to bounce around the kitchen Grin

Got it online from Laskey's was about £750 if I recall, but I had seen it between £750.00 and £1,000 at various sites/shops.

Easy to clean (well as easy as any other oven...)

I haven't actually cleaned inside it yet Xmas Blush but the top is easy and doesn't streak as much as stainless steel ones. I use an e-cloth for windows after wiping it down.

I havethis rangemaster one which has been brilliant for the past 5 years. Well worth the money and I actually tend only to use the smaller overn.
