Brown hair dye on beige carpet - any miracle ideas?!

As it says really... There is a bit of a smudged drip on one stair (about the size of a 10p) and then a larger smudge on the next stair. I appear to have dripped then stood in it. Can anyone tell me a miracle thing that might remove this mess? Or should I start investigating for a divorce lawyer?! DH was not particularly amused

Well with clothes you spray it with hairspray to stop it setting and then wash - worth a try?

Try nail varnish remover, but don't scrub, blot.

When this happened to me I couldn't find anything to get rid of the stain...hope u do find something tho!

Is it a permenant dye or semi?

Because semi comes out with repeated washing. Failing that claim on the house insurance and have a new stairs carpet. MIL did that when someone tipped coffee all over the cream carpet in the lounge.

Sorry, gave up then forgot to check back! I googled and discovered that I'm not the only one who has done this - reasonable success with washing up liquid solution followed by vinegar solution followed by hairspray. But the carpet is quite forgiving - it's quite a mottled beige. Thanks for the replies!
