Hopstheduck · 29/11/2011 11:22

Gremlindolphin, does your sweep cover Ascot? I really need my chimney doing!

mejon · 29/11/2011 15:02

£40 cash in mid-Wales around 6 weeks or so ago. Would have been £45 if I'd paid by cheque.

KizzyLizzy · 29/11/2011 16:09

On a side note. How often do you need your chimney cleaned?

soandsosmummy · 29/11/2011 20:10

£35 in Birmingham

Indith · 29/11/2011 20:18

£45. He is very, very good and will come back free of charge if you have any problems within a couple of months of having it done.

There are lots of speedy, cheap and cheerful services around but they are just not thorough. We have a stove not an open fire and when we first moved in we used a cheaper service. He only did the chimney not the connecting flue which turned out to be completely blocked!

yomellamoHelly · 29/11/2011 20:20

£42 sw london

33goingon64 · 30/11/2011 19:34

I paid £45 in South east. Needs doing every 2 years apparently.

Indith · 01/12/2011 16:05

How often it needs doing depends on how often you use it and what you burn. Coal is very sooty and would need doing more often than anthracite for example. We do ours yearly, it does our heating and water so at this time of year is on 24 hours a day, not the same as someone who has a fire on a Friday night for a treat.
