Chicken fat on favourite tablecloth?

We had a roast last night and through various joint mishaps we managed to spill a goodly amount of chicken fat/juice onto my favourite red patterned cloth. I can't replace it (TKMaxx ages ago - wouldn't know where to get a new one and I've been looking for a spare for months) and because of the colour I am reluctant to boil it and was too squiffy to sort it out when wet last night.

What could I use to pre-treat the cloth please? It's 100% cotton and has a stitched pattern that could stand some rough and tumble but probably not the 60 degrees wash. I'd prefer to use natural/kitchen cupboard products rather than chemical stuff but have no idea where to begin without ruining the fabric.

Any advice gratefully received!

rub a little spot of neat washing up liquid into the stain then wash it as normal?

Yes, Fairy liquid as suggested. If that doesn't quite shift it, get it dry, then rub some talc into the greasy patch and iron it with a dry iron. Rub off the talc, if it's a big patch you might need to wash it again to get the talc out. I have got greasy marks out of clothes so many times with the talc, it really works well.
