I could scream! Window fitter has walked dog crap all up my new carpet! It is everywhere and it smells! Anyone know how best to get it out?! Please!

wet wipes, or that spray in vanish carpet stuff or if its absolutely everywhere you can hire one of those carpet cleaners. I would get an old spoon and scrape the worst off first - carefully so you aren't pushing any into the carpet more. YUK. Maybe ask the window cleaner to do it - though he would probably bodge it. a towel or something over your face reduces the need to vomit whilst you are doing it.

Could be worse - DS just stood in his nappy and then legged across the room before I could blink Blush Angry

Baby wipes to take the worst off and then Vanish spray seems to have done the job.

Will use Bicarb for the smell if it doesn't dissipate with the window open.

No way would I trust the window fitter to do it! And he was more concerned about cleaning his boots Shock although he says he can't do his work without them Hmm...

Thankfully the carpet is so new I found the manufacturer's leaflet advising blotting with warm water and white wine mixture. It actually seems to be working. Thank god!

That'll teach me for going about things in the wrong order. Really should have got new window before new carpet.

And now I am faced with a mountain of dust and no hoover bags. Aagghh again!

take photos and phone and write to the window company at once as they should be taking responsibility for this...although commonsense would advise me to have had windows fitted first then carpets

Yup me too. Carpets aren't THAT new and couldn't afford new window before...
