Ooh, watching this thread with interest! 9 times out of 10, they are absolutely fine, but there has been the odd time they've given me soft cheese that needs to be used up within 2 or 3 days!

krisskross · 13/11/2011 16:16

i go try about three times a year in an efficiency drive and its always the same- stuff a few days off whereas if i was instore i could get stuff a week or so off. What to do????

Complain. I complained every time and they told me they would feed that info back to the store it came from. After a couple of weeks on the trot of problems it stopped.
Icomplain about stuff going on on the use by date, which has happened both by shopping online and in store, too.

mirpuppet · 13/11/2011 19:59

Do you get your money back when you complain?

krisskross · 13/11/2011 20:39

i suppose i am too lazy to complain! Easier to go to the shop and do it myself first time round.....

Deffo complain - I got a tenner off last time I complained about some pork that was about to go out of date.

They usually bring it to my attention on the delivery note to give you a chance to reject it but didn't so I mailed them.

Sainsbo's have a reputation for short shelf lives generally I believe. I ranted at length complained, about my weeks shopping all requiring to be eaten within 3 days, and the lousy quality of the fruit and veg and received money off, and it did improve.

However it always annoyed my that if Sainsbo's had run out of any product that was under special offer they would substitute but I would have the pay the additional cost. So I switched to T... another well know supermarket who only charge the reduced price regardless of the substitution.
