How can I make my house smell nice?

TMI warning!
I need to find ways of getting a nice smell in here.
We are in north England so not very warm if we leave the windows open.
DD was sick on the carpet yesterday so we cleaned it. DH used Floor cleaner and water then Fabreeze. this cleaned up the mess but it still doesn't smell nice.

So is it a case of getting some Pot purri and candles/air fresheners or can anyone suggest anything?

try a simmer pot. no nasty chemicals and you get to choose a smell you really like. I made one with grapefruit in it that was lovely.

Bicarbonate of soda is supposed to get rid of the smell I think or Yankee candles are great, no need to burn just take the lid off!

Sprinkle some soda crystals over the spot, it absorbs the smells a treat.

We do this on our bathroom Carpet where 3 boys have weed. It works a treat
