plate racks/drainers

Been in our new house since June and I am very happy with it; bathroom is terrible in terms of decoration but liveable. The kitchen work top space however is poor and I don't have much space for a drainer. I've looked at getting a wall mounted drainer as i like the old fashioned quality about them but can't find one big enough- they all seem to be scootery little piddling 'shabby chic' decorated affairs for £££££s.

Anyone seen a good proper sturdy no nonsense one on their travels?

thankee kindly

We used to have a thing like a sloping tray (white plastic) which we got from John Lewis - the lip of it goes over the edge of the sink so it drains into the sink, then you can dry it up and put it away when not in use. In practice we never actually dried it up and put it away though...

We also got a metal wall-mounted draining rack which hung above the white tray - not sure if that was also from John Lewis or possibly Ikea? Was a long time ago though.
