Recommendations for a mop for an uneven slate kitchen floor

I really need a new mop for my uneven slate kitchen floor - I currently have a Vileda SuperMop, which is pretty rubbish.

Sorry, I've posted about this problem as part of another thread before. I bought an E-cloth mop as a result of that thread, it's fab for my nice flat floors, but I wouldn't put it through a session on my kitchen floor.

TIA Smile.

Old fashioned string mop? it's what they would have used years ago when slate was probably a cheap way of having a floor!.

Or a floor cloth and get down on your hands and knees (I wouldnt fancy it either).

Arg, I've been thinking about an old-fashioned string mop too Grin! I think it probably is the best / only solution, I might try to get a slightly more modern version of that style then.

Crikey, a floor cloth. I might have a look for one this pm. I did buy DH a scrubbing brush, but he doesn't seem very keen.

Very hard on the knees, we have good laminate so I use a steamer now.

My parents have a concrete tiled floor (2.5 inch thick slabs dyed to look like a slate floor) and they use a sealent/wax on it and then just hoover.

If I wasnt no contact with them I'd ask what it was for you!.

something like this?

Combines a string and microfibre mop in one. The shape of this one isn't ideal but I'm sure that JML do a similar one in the e-cloth mop shape

Thanks for the replies!

I reached the end of my tether, and bought a new mop in the supermarket earlier today - it's made by Vileda again (arg!), it's in the style of an old-fashioned string mop, but it's made from 50% cotton and 50% microfibres. I mopped the kitchen floor 3x Grin, it really seemed to get it nice and clean, and it didn't leave it sopping wet. Hurray!
