Ikea Ektorp leather sofas

We want to buy some new sofas, our current ones are really truly shit, they are fabric and not comfortable (originally from Sofa Workshop in MFI)

I have an Ikea sofabed that is 11 years old and it is just so comfy and seems to have lasted well. Went to Ikea today and tried the Ektorp fabric and leather but DH is keen on leather because it is easier to keep clean and tbh I think he has a point (the sofabed has removable covers but it is an arse).

They seem very cheap compared to equivalent from DFS etc and I want them to last a good few years before we buy again.

Any experiences of the Ektorp or recommendations for two sofas under £1000? Thanks.

We have the ektorp fabric one and it appears to be bearing up well after 6 years of daily abuse wear and tear.
We bought the white one because it was the cheapest and last year I dyed it in an interesting brown sludge/raspberry combination (I can't remember what I was aiming for) which hides a multitude of better left unidentified stains*

*left by the DC, not anything dodgy going on there
