Any tips for handwashing? broken washing machine

What's the procedure?

I've been dumping a load in the bath, pouring over washing powder, and turning on the hot tap, then when the water cools enough to toughm mixing them all around. Then I empty the water and put hot water in without powder, to rinse them, then mix them all about, drain and squeeze the water out of every individual item before hanging up to dry.
My way leaves stains though!

What can I do?

Hand washing doesn't work as well as most washing powders are designed to work best in a machine - unless you buy stuff specifically for hand washing.

Launderette or friends machine is your best option

Life's too short. Go to the launderette!

If you are short of money, try asking on freecycle for a washing machine to tide you over. Or look at ebay local collections.
