How do I clean wee soaked leather school shoes?

My 4YO DD managed to have a major wee accident on the way home from school today. Her leather school shoes were completely soaking. How can I clean these properly without ruining them?

I'd say give them a good wipe with some mild soapy water and leave them to dry. People have been deliberately weeing on leather footwear for many years to soften them up so I wouldn't worry too much!

...as above, a good wipe down with a cloth or sponge. Our shoes used to get stuffed with balls of screwed up newspaper to soak up the water, it helps them dry in time for the next day.
