How do I get this stain off the toilet?

I found a battery in the toilet! Am thinking it must have rolled off the side into the mop bucket and was emptied in. Anyway, it must have been there for a few days and i've not noticed as now there's a big rusty stain at the bottom of the bowl. Scrubbing and bleach wont shift it....any ideas please? It doesn't look nice at all!

swoosh the water out of the trap and round the bend with a loo brush, and rub the stain with a green nylon pan scourer (this will not scratch the porcelain if damp)

You can get a rust removing acid called "Jenolite" as motorists toyshops. It is a clear liquid (mind your eyes). Do not use a paste as most other brands of rust treatments are just intended to stabilise it ready for painting.

For a job like that, drip it onto a piece of kitchen roll and lay the wet paper on the stain, otherwise (being a liquid) it is liable to run off.

Use rubber gloves. Acid burns.
