...made a cheeky offer on a property last week and they accepted....on the condition we complete at end of Nov

We are currently in rented accomodation and most of our posessions are still boxed in the garage Smile but I have 2 young dc to organise and lots to sort out/plan.

So....
Have organised the removal van.
Have organised the carpet cleaner man (vendors had a dog and dh is allergic)
Am going on friday to take measurements for curtains and 1 x bedroom carpet

How can I keep the newly cleaned carpets clean whilst they bring the stuff into the house? Sheets on floor?

Need to take all the curtains to dry cleaners....

When should I start packing up stuff again?? Week we move? Got the boxes/packing material etc already.

Am planning to clean through the day before we move....any tips gratefully recieived!!!...

Start ASAP. Start off with things like pictures, ornaments, stuff you don't use on a daily basis.
Get some marker pens so you can label each box.(Write on the top and on the side of each box)
When we moved, the last rooms we were packing up were the bathroom and kitchen, Although in the kitchen it is a case of pack what you don't use often first.

Are you using a removal company or moving yourselves?
A removal company will normally bring sheets/floor coverings. but check with them first.

Also if possible get someone to look after DC on the day you move.

I'm sorry I can't help, but our moving date is 26 Nov so I'm in the same boat! I've moved 13 times in the past 10 years but until very recently I could get all my worldly belongings in a taxi and just do it all on the day. Now, with DP and DD, a lot of donated furniture, and having been in one place for 2 years we actually have a LOT of stuff.

Luckily DP organising the removal people so I don't have to deal with that. And I am madly decluttering in preparation to move, but I don't know when/how we're going to start packing! I have made a list of literally everything in the house though so that I can go through it and work out where things will go in the new house, what we need to get rid of, and to work out an order for packing - things we don't use everyday first etc...

Sheets for carpets sounds good to me; that's what we've always used when painting. They have fancy floor protector stuff down on the wood floors in our new house whilst builders are in there, but not sure where you get it from.
