To repair or replace - fridge freezer?

Hi All

After some advice please. A few weeks ago I noticed that things were starting to defrost in my freezer. I have run the food down and completely cleared it out and this morning there is an error light on the freezer light section (not explaining this very well!)

The fridge is working still but seemed warmer this morning when I noticed the freezer light (I was also putting away our big shop so the door was open for a bit). The temerature of the fridge seems OK now but obviously we will need to get someone out to sort the freezer.

It is a Bosch and only about 4 years old. It is not the seals (that we can see anyway as you have to give the doors a mighty yank to open them).

DH says we may as well get a new one - the call out for the engineer is £85 with parts on top and a new one is less than £400. Part of me agrees with him, but part doesn't (we can afford it but are not rolling in cash). If we had it fixed what are the chances it will go wrong again in the next few years? Would hate for dh to say "told you so"!

Thanks for any advice / experience ...
