"Mummy, there are black bits in the bath"....

Has anyone found the perfect "bath toy receptacle"? I am finding myself scrubbing the toys weekly of their black nastiness. Or rather I am trying to do it weekly, but sometimes I don't realise and my son shames alerts me to the black floaty bits!

We tried a net thing from tesco, but its suction cups wouldn't stick to the tiles above the bath, so we affixed it to the top of the inside of the bath. This didn't work as, DH who generally does the bath didn't bother to take the net out each bathtime, so it didn't really solve the prob. So they currently just sit in the bath, not draining after they get wet which is the prob.

What do you do with your bath toys? I want something easy that works.

Thanks

On phone so cant link, but M&P bath tidy Turtle is fab, and has a handy shelf at the top for lotions and potions. HTH Smile

Glue up the holes, before the kids get them full of water. Or suck them full of Milton, squirt until empty, dry, then superglue the holes shut.

stick them in a weak solution of bleach every so often (our shower likes to grow black mould too, so I do it at the same time. I would like a whole new bathroom!)

I threw the dirty buggers out and now only let the kids have the ikea plastic cups.

I hate bath toys!

I am also a grump! Smile

Thanks, all helpful suggestions :)

esselle I hate them too. But I keep thinking that at some point (not yet, though he is 3.5) he'll be too old to have bath toys, so keen to "indulge" him for now...

Loving all the preventive measures with superglue. On my most paranoid days I am concerned about visitors spying the black speckled toys in the bath and fearing what they'll think of me!!

I found a bath net thingy in B and Q. It has a hook at the top so it can go over the shower rail and 3 pockets for toys.

I found DD's toys got black bits when I was using oilatum in her bath. Then I had to give them an occasional bleach bath.
