Apologies if done before - having trouble searching - but any top tips for cleaning (I think) stainless steel saucepans without scratching - trying to get them looking shop-new again...

Brillo pads
Soaking
Elbow grease
Washing them straight away

Soak them in dishwasher detergent and then attack with brillo.

green nylon scourer. There is also a product called "barkeepers friend", a dry powder polish, very good for getting stains off sinks.

satin-finish stainless is much easier to look after than mirror-finish, which shows all the scratches, and will be marked if you use brillo or scourer on it.

I am assuming you are talking about making the outsides look like new?
