Sky+ remote driving me potty

Wasn't sure where to post this, so will try here first. Our Sky+ remote is really sluggish, you really have to press the button insanely hard to get it to do anything. Any advice? Um loathe to ring Sky as (a) their cust service is SO crap, and (b) the box is a few years old now so prob need to get a new one which will cost us.

Anyway, any ideas gratefully received!

change the batteries? you can buy new ones, without having to phone Sky.

Done that, numerous times!

We had to change our remote when that happened. Think it was just worn out, especially the play and pause button. Think you can buy them reasonably cheap online now.

Just replace the remote - even ASDA have them these days.

About £20 iirc...

Thanks, we've already replaced the remote and things improved for a bit, but this one has gone the same way. Must be the box, sigh, perhaps time to phone their shambolic cust service......
