Fabric conditioner drawer blocked

In my washing machine, the section of the drawer which holds the fabric conditioner is all blocked up. The conditioner doesn't drain away into the washing , and is still there once the wash has finished. I've removed and washed the drawer, also the lid, but it's still happening. Any ideas? It's a hotpoint machine, BTW.

Can you fill the drawer with hot water and put the machine on an empty wash and hopefully it will sloosh it through?

The water outlets (situated above the drawer) are probably blocked, meaning the conditioner doesn't drain out into the washing - this happened to mine. I cleaned them out with a cocktail stick and then used an old tooth brush to clean with bleach. Hope this helps.

I woulod do what both Lemon and Eggy suggest, in reverse order!

I was going to say what eggy said

If you have a hand held steam cleaner you could try to loosen it all with that first, then do what Eggy and Lemon said. I did that with mine this week and it's much better now. I gave it a blast down where it's supposed to run through as well, iyswim.
