Shirt collars and cuffs....

...how the hell do you get them clean??

I don't know what my OH does to get dirt so ground into his shirt, but unless I wash at 60 degs on an intensive wash with Persil non-bio powder and a scoop of Vanish, they simply won't get clean.

If I could use fewer chemicals and a lower temperature that would be great - does anyone have any tips?

Thanks!

Vanish stick rubbed on the dirt line after dampening is the only thing I've found good. Not sure if that counts as fewer chemicals though. Including a White hand towel in the load seems to help (perhaps it 'scrubs' it?)
