Which Washing Machine?

We've had our Siemens Washing machine for 7 years, it's now broken so looking for a new one.

Have heard the best on the market is Miele, does anyone have one of these? Are they that good? Also have been advised NEVER to buy Hotpoint or Indesit so will steer away from those.

Would like a big drum, timer if poss, digital countdown display if poss?

Have just bought a new samsung machine. Only had it a week but so far quite impressed. Not as big a drum as my last machine but loads of features. Really impressed with the 15 degrees wash which they claim is as good as washing at 40. Has a delay timer and countdown too.

Has anyone a Which subscription? They can tell you current best buys. I would be interested to know what Which said about the samsung machine.

Our washing machine broke recently and having tried lots of different machines while carting washing to friends, I liked Bosch best. The speed perfect (c.1hr) wash is VERY good. There are a wide range of machines at different prices to suit all.

Oh and the Bosch I got has a 9kg max load - HUGE drum!!

I have a miele - I bought it in 2004 for £1000 and got a 10 yr guarantee. Never had anything wrong and do between 5 - 7 washes a week now. I would always buy another - I think it is definitely a product where you get what you pay for!

I have the Miele washer dryer, 3 years old now and came with a 10 year warrenty, had an electrical fault first week, they fixed it next day and nothing else gone wrong - I do 20 + washes a week. I picked this for the warrenty and the water usage, it used loads less than any other on the market at the time and less electric. With the amount I do I reckoned it would pay for itseld in no time. The 30 min wash is excellent as well.

And its sooooo quite
