Anyone else heard this thing about washing below 60 degrees in the machine is unhygenic?

I always wash towels at 60 and clothes at 40.

Apparently knickers in particular should always be washed at at least 60.

Doesn't this spoil the clothes though?

I wash bedding at 60, regular clothes at 40/30. Towels at 60.

Things that aren't that dirty I run on an eco wash, which doesn't heat water at all it washes cold. :) The machine aggregates it a special way to remove dirt and it works very very well.

brightspark2 I like the thought of 33,000!!! Yes please!! Don't think I could stand hubby home for a fortnight - dread the day retirement comes - will find something else for him to do!! He very tall and big, I have to work around him sometimes or just try to shove him out of the way!! Smile
