Range Cooker

I need to buy a range cooker quickly.

Something shorted yesterday- half the lights in the house went off and we now have a hob that works, light and fan working in the oven and NO HEAT.

I have been looking out for a replacement for a few months anyway as it is rubbish- noisy, uneven heat. It's this one

I missed out on a couple of privately advertised ones locally recently, DH is now flexing his credit card and preparing to spend big time. Ant top tips of what not to buy? And what's essential?

Thank you!

I have just bought a new range cooker and am really happy with it. Its a Stoves Sterling 900DFT (Dual fuel and I have LPG). I got in from www.appliancesonline.co.uk and it was £300 cheaper than anywhere else and they did free next day delivery. Its fabulous and the tower oven heats up in 10 mins! has a multifunctional main oven and very good, even grill. The hob is good although if I had a SLIGHT criticism the wok burner is perhaps still a little too fierce even when turned to lowest setting.

I'm really happy with it. If you have LPG you will need to buy a conversion kit from Stoves spares dept (its about £30).
Hope that helps.

Thank you kansasmum. I thought I had a few months grace as while we were choosing a replacement I called the supplier- its still under warranty. Amazingly they came out and fixed it on Wednesday. Rather less fantastically the following day the inner glass cracked- showering the roast inside.

So I'm now waiting in Monday for the engineer to come and confirm that yes, that is glass everywhere. [hhmm]
