What us the beamst way to clean a small patch of carpet by the front door after the door mat which has managed to get very bmgrubby looking - don't want to hire a steam cleaner fit such a small area.

Try vanish power foam/ carpet cleaner and a little bit of soda water- massage in, leave to dry and hoover. It might take a few goes depending on how grubby it is but it is worth a go!

I've just used the new Vanish sprinkly stuff on my very grubby carpet. Comes in a huge container, sprinkle it on to a freshly vacuumed carpet, leave for 20 minutes and hoover off.
Worked very very well - I was most impressed.

But you do need a good hoover to get it all up again (my needed emptying 4 times before I was done).

Ooh thanks pip- I'd wondered what that was like (foam is all well and good but not great with a bad back)
Shall rush excitedly take a trip to shops tomorrow

Oh - forgot to say - you need to brush the powder into your carpet, so make sure you have a broom around.

Thanks ladies where do you get this sprinkle magic from?
