I recently bought a lovely cosy sofa from friend for our play room. She has a dog so I expected to find the odd dog hair but neither she nor her partner smoke. However, the sofa has a really funny smell. I sometimes sit on it and it just sort of hits me. I have now re-washed all the seat and cushion covers and shampooed (using foaming upholstery cleaning stuff) the mainbody of the sofa but the smell is still there. It isn't a dirty smell it just isn't a lovely smelll either. I wonder if it is a wet dog smell that has just been absorbed into the actual cushions. Any hints on products to use to eliminate this mystery aroma.
