How do I get candle wax off a velvet jacket?

I've read that I can iron it off by placing a piece of kitchen towel over the wax then ironing on top of it, but will it not affect the velvet nap?

Hi, I have heard that placing a brown paper bag over the suspect area and ironing it should bring it out.

Or kitchen towel & Iron. I'm a dentist & when I was a student we had to make our own dentures (not for us but for our patients!) they are crafted in wax at the first stage & the amount of wax on me was far higher than that anywhere else in the University! Absorbent paper & medium iron did the trick!

You could try freezing it to make the wax more brittle, then it might come off more easily?

Thanks I'll give the kitchen towel idea a go, I've only got a small freezer and it's full of rubbish healthy foods and no space for a jacket. Smile
