weird paint question for you wise mnetters!

Ok, teen daughter had written on her walls, with friends...no problem we knew we were decorating. Got some anti-graffitti pen 'cos some of the stuff "bled" through ordinary paint. DD painted it all herself then decided to clean the roller and tray in the bath! We now have what looks like chewing gum all over the bottom of the bath, going yuk! Any ideas? Have tried cillitbang, lighter fluid and tough cleaning stuff. It will chip off with a shoe horn (don't ask) but it's soul destroying and takes an hour to do a tiny bit. I have visitors next week and my bath looks grotty.

I'm assuming they used emulsion?
that should just wash off with soap ad water.
although, if your bath had even a small amount of limescale in it, that would stop that from working.
Use something like "Bath Power" or Fairy Power spray.
it might take a couple of goes, but it should work.

if it's gloss, though, the only thing that will work is white spirits or Turps.

is the anti-graffiti stuff the actual paint?
it'll be made up similar to gloss.

It's actually called anti graffitti paint and it is sort of thick like gloss

The outside of the tin would usually say what you need to clean the rollers etc with - turps or white spirit or a brand-namje "brush cleaner" would be the most likely options. But if it is in thick lumps on the bath you'll probably need to break off what you can first.

I'd probably go with a pile of ripped-up old t-shirts and some white sprit, and smear off what you can each time, then throw the rag into a bin bag, rather than trying to rinse them out or anything like that.

It does sound hard to get off! I would use white spirit, and try to avoid adding any more water, though you've probably already wet it with the other cleaners. Try that and see if any of it comes off onto a cloth.

It's possible that its already set pretty hard, so it may not shift even with solvents.

If it really won't go, I know you can get stuff in DIY shops which dissolves silicone sealant (the kind of stuff that's often used along the top of the bath to seal the gap). It turns that back into disgusting thick gloop - that might work on it, maybe.

stickyj, you have used an unusual kind of paint, so rather than guessing, the best route would be to ask the manufacturers. Their contact details are very likely on the tin. I know how to get rid of varous kinds of paint, but I don't know what kind yours is.

Or you could ask DD to buy a new bath. What is the bath made of? It may be attacked by aggressive cleaning.
