reviving down jackets

i washed my down jacket yesterday but only got to tumble dry it today. the feathers seem to have bunched up, particularly in the sleeves, so half of it is nice and puffy but bits of it are empty.

any tips for evening out the filling again? i will be at the inlaws tomorrow (with tumble dryer on site) so if it's just because i left it for a day, I could wash/dry it again there.

i should point out that this will be its 5th winter - done well so far but i guess there comes a point when you have to let go.

I have a vague recollection that a tennis ball in the tumble dryer is the answer.

yes, a tennis ball or, better still, a (clean) trainer does a better job of bashing Grin

(trainer very noisy though)

Tennis ball is fine. These days quality down jackets are sold with a tennis ball for the very purpose.
