Can you recommend a good silver jewellery cleaning polish/liquid?

I have 2 decent silver necklaces that need to be cleaned of slight tarnish - they aren't too bad, just a little dull - what can I use to buff them up?

Toothpaste and a soft toothbrush.

I did it the other day on a bracelet that had got a bit tarnished.

Try those cleaning cloths (blue) that you can pick up at most supermarkets They last for ages and really get rid of the tarnish.

Thank you, I'm going to try the toothpaste tonight and if that fails I shall be off to the shops - am I looking for a specific silver polishing cloth?

Yes, its by Goodards. It smells a bit funny but a quick rub will remove any tarnishing. Keep your silver in airtlock bags if you can to prevent the tarnish.

Goddard's Silver Dip, if you can get it - it will get into all the nooks and crannies on a chain. Failing that, Goddard's Silver Pad. The cloths might be a bit of a fiddle to use on small items. Robert Dyas should carry both of these products.
