How do I get sick out of a mattress?

DD1 was sick in bed last night. It's a thick, sprung mattress. Any ideas?

Get tons of Bicarb of soda and make into a paste with a bit of water in the area . really rub it in . Leave to dry and hoover it off. Repeat as needed.
If you can invest from Ikea or similar one of the mattress covers that has a fine waterproof cover then a cotton top - they are fantastic has saved my mattress a good few times.( and they don't make the child sweat)
