Where to buy knitting stuff

Not sure if this is the right thread but I want to start knitting again; will do some scarves and hats for my boys for this winter so nothing too hard and was wondering if anybody can suggest where I can buy needles/wool etc.. at a cheap or reasonable price.

Looked on ebay and there isn't much there but I really don't know where to look.
Any advice would be most welcomed.

thanks

If you can't find a local wool shop, John Lewis have an excellent habidashary department.

ravelry.com is a great website for getting free patterns, I got my needles from ebay, and I support my local wool shop for most of the wool I buy (but mainly because I have a sensory thing and cant stand the feel of certain wools, so online wont work!) Its also handy buying there as they can give advice, and Ive gone ther when I havent understood a pattern so def get my moneys worth!

Sometimes I get from charity shops, its so hit and miss and time consuming!

If you have a local or town market nearby there is normally a stall that will specialise in knitting materials on most markets where you can get really reasonable priced wool/ needles/ patterns and the stall traders are normally really helpful.

Cheap wool kemps

Good mix of cheaper wool or posh wool - black sheep

Hejhog good too. McA direct also good.

Deramores has a very wide variety of stuff, often has stuff with 10% off, and delivers quickly, but generally seems very expensive when I've had a look.

And if you want cheap wool, some charity shops stock it new, my local arthritis research shop has tons of colours, in Robin acrylic dk, for £1.25 per 100g ball. Perfect for practising or toys.
