We are 2 adults 2 children no pets. DD 4 and DS 15m
DD starts school Tuesday so I forsee my washing machine being even busier.
I do per week...
3x darks
2x lights
1x whites
1x cleaning clothes tea towels etc
Bedding every other week is another 2 loads.

So school uniform will make that around 10 loads a week for 4 people. How is this possible?
Tell me your washing woes?

CointreauVersial · 04/09/2011 16:18

2 adults, 3 DCs (12,10 and 8, including one mud-loving footballer)

We do 3-4 loads mid-week, then 4-5 at the weekend.

I'm quite relaxed on school uniform, and the same set lasts for the week, unless actually mucky.

chickydoo · 04/09/2011 16:18

mostly the machine is on once sometimes twice a day!
I guess 10 loads a week (ish)

DrNortherner · 04/09/2011 16:19

God I don't even know, have no set routine, it goes on when I have enough for a load.

Generally on at least once every day. 2 adults, 1 child, all very sporty and dh is a chef so whites to wash too. And a dog so his bedding gets done.

I love my washing machine!

CointreauVersial · 04/09/2011 16:20

Sorry, did I say "we" do....?

I meant "I" do. I don't think the rest of the family even know where the utility room is.

babycham42 · 04/09/2011 16:20

4 people here and I would say 7 - 10 loads a week.

I"m also in the red/pink wash gang!

MayDayChild · 04/09/2011 16:29

Phew Chickydo! But how many of you. Please don't say 6....

2 adults (including sporty dh), one toddler in washable nappies. I do one wash per day with an extra load for bedding and towels at the weekends, so that's 9 loads. eek, that's a lot.

LawrieMarlow · 04/09/2011 16:37

One adult and two children (7 and 5).

I think about 3 or 4 loads a week, but I really must count some time.

MrsRobertDuvall · 04/09/2011 16:43

ilikethesun · 04/09/2011 17:45

2 adults 1 child.

5 loads a week plus 1 delicates plus 1 dog towels.

I dont separate clothes. Apart from the dog towels of course they go in on their own and i do an empty machine wash after them.

BastardDog · 04/09/2011 17:48

4 of us. I do one wash a day, 6 days a week. Two thirds of it is kids stuff, messy creatures that they are.

CoffeeIsMyFriend · 04/09/2011 17:50

2 adults, 2 children, 2 dogs.

My washing machine is on every day. Towels, bedding (dogs and human), pj's shirts for DH, clothes for me and the children.

I do about 9 loads at least a week. I heart my Washing MAchine. Grin

MigratingCoconuts · 04/09/2011 17:53

3-4 loads a week for 4 of us...what are some of you washing??

Does anyone else consider water wastage and energy use in all this? I make bigger loads to try to save energy.

sparkle12mar08 · 04/09/2011 17:59

5-7 loads a week, 2 adults 2 young children. That includes bedding & towels alternately as well. I bring a load down in the morning as soon as I'm dressed and pop it straight in, then unload the dishwasher. It's a set routine. And by the time the kids are breakfasted and dressed the washing is ready to come out to dry during the day.
