Dh has just got home and on his (stupidly expensive and completely lovely) jacket and on his less expensive but equally lovely gingham shirt - the lid was off the pen in the pocket (school boy error)

Can anyone help? The Jacket is dry clean only and the shirt is normal wash but I have no idea of how to save these clothes

Please help wise cleaning gurus!

I got some old stains out of dd's lovely woollen dress yesterday by making a paste with cornflour and leaving it to dry, then brushing off. Am sure it won't do any harm to your shirt and might just work. Fingers crossed!

Hairspray!!
Seriously, it is amazing at getting ink out of clothes. Just spray it till its quite wet, rub between your hands until the ink "loosens".

Pop in machine and it should wash out.

It may take more than one attempt, if really bad, but you should see a marked improvement each time.

ExDH once destroyed a good work shirt with what seemed like the complete ink contents of one pen, but it all came out in about 3 cycles.

But dont use your expensive stuff, tesco value did the job for me!

Happy spraying.
