Is it possible to remove yellow from old white telephone?

Already tried bleach, toothpaste, Cif, travel-wash, lemonjuice, denture tabs etc. and too mean to buy new one for bedroom.

Sorry, I don't have any ideas but I found this discussion on another website which you might find interesting (if not providing a solution) www.vintage-radio.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7225 . It seems the damage may be due to sunlight and permanent.

Many thanks Teamdoodle, for saving me lots more cleaning attempts. Have decided to paint most of it, leaving just buttons discoloured - looks OK

Have now managed to get correct link and read forum as above, which was indeed interesting, as peroxide was the one chemical I'd forgotten. Will try using it with a cotton-bud on the buttons, but am quite pleased with the painted effect so far and it was definitely caused by sunlight.
Just remembered seeing sticky-backed plastic film with peel-off characters, no doubt designed for just this purpose on phones & keyboards, so will try this.
