Oven cleaners

Can anyone recommend a really good product? Is there anything that will really get rid of the burnt on black at the bottom?
Don"t want to get in a company and have no dishwasher for the shelves.
Any tips also for keeping it clean and how often do you clean yours?

My dp has recently done ours with an Oven Pride kit (about a fiver) and it was amazing! We also don't have a dishwasher. Erm, may have been the first time it has been cleaned properly since buying it three years ago?!

Hi there, I started a thread recently (www.mumsnet.com/Talk/good_housekeeping/1282677-does-that-ring-a-bell-to-anyone ) asking for a oven cleaning product and someone there suggested Oven Mate Gel Cleaner from Lakeland, I bought it and I am very pleased with the result. I thought Oven Pride was great with the shelves but a bit of a hassle to put inside the oven. However Oven Mate was easier to apply inside it.
