Lush cake recipe ideas

I've got a real hankering to bake, but I'm out of ideas.

Recently I've made carrot, choc fudge and banana cakes. What other recipes are surefire winners?

Lemon drizzle?

I made a treacle tart last night (used Lorraine Pascale's recipe from 'Baking made easy') Was delicious, and went down a storm with DP and the DC. She uses a bit of lemon and ginger in it, which takes a bit of the edge off the sweetness (in a good way). Her recipes seem to be pretty reliable - I also did the Lemon Tart from the same book and it was fabulous too.

That sounds lovely midnight - was it difficult?

I'm not very good at baking but this was foolproof and very nice! lemon polenta cake

No, really easy. I bought the pastry, (and the breadcrumbs Blush) which took that particular faff out of the equation. Then you just bake the case blind, and then melt the syrup, butter, lemon juice and zest and ground ginger together in a pan, bung in the breadcrumbs and then cook it for about 25 mins.
