Memory foam mattress toppers

Hello anyone tried one of these? Our mattress is quite firm and I've developed back ache- are these any help? Thanks !

We got bought one for Christmas; dp loves it, I found it a little too soft for my liking.

No personal experience of memory foam but I have invested in single and double versions of this mattress topper which DS has used on his university hall bed and I have used on uncomfortable rental apartment beds. Highly recommend.
