Help! Need tips for removing sweat stains....

Any good tips for removing sweat stains out of a white work tunic? DH's work (in all their wisdom ) have changed from blue polo shirts to white tunics (like the ones worn by male nurses). DH works as a carer so it's hot sweaty work and a variety of stains by the time he gets home. His work don't launder uniforms on site (infection control bug bear of mine) so I have to do his on a min 60 degree wash. The only problem with that is the embroidered logo then leeches blue dye and despite using colour catchers the tunic is starting to look dingy.

If it had been all white I would have steeped it in bleach before boiling it and drying it on the line. Now I can't get the sweat stains out (tried Vanish, ACE bleach, Stain Devil) and DH comes out in a rash if I use the likes of Daz....

So, wise MN laundry people.....What can I do?????

Does the Daz work then ? If it does you could do a wash with that and then do a short wash without any powder to remove any residue so dh does not come out in a rash. Not very economical but.....
If not I wonder if napisan would work if you soaked them in that before washing?

Going forward, could your dh wear a white Tshirt underneath. Dh died that and has to bin the sweatiest on a regular basis, but it certainly saves the good clothes on top.

DH has tried wearing a tshirt below but finds it too hot and comes out in a heat rash. The problem is the heating rarely gets turned down regardless of the temperature outside. It's like walking into a sauna. God forbid you open a window....... The old bissues

Stupid iPod posting before I'm ready. Anyway, the old biddies lovely old folk are quick to complain of a draught. Don't know what was wrong with the other uniform. Easy to wash and dark enough to hide stains during the day. ( grumble grumble)

get a spray bottle and spray the sweat stains with vinegar and leave for 10 mins before switching machine on. Also wash with bio if possible

you can buy squirty bottles of vinegar in wilkos for £1.

not sure if it will get out the stains that are already there, but it will stop more and when he has a new uniform should stop it happening in the 1st place.

If there are any lingering smells it will remove them now though

Biotex works for me.

tried Biotex and it seems to have helped a bit. shroeder do they do one that runs the length of his back lol

Neat washing-up liquid on the stains before garment goes in the machine, and hot water. Go for 90°C if you can, otherwise 60. It worked when I did it on some old T-shirts.

Crumbs, if he's sweating right down his back you might wanna put him in charge of washing the flipping things-he might then wear a t shirt underneath.

The only other thing I can suggest is this

You might have to rub it on his back for him, but easier than removing sweat stains. Thankfully summer is nearly over

Napisan works for me. Soak in warm water and napisan before washing and I can then use a 40c wash

Hello, I work in white tunics too, mine has a navy collar and cuff detail.
I wear a white Tshirt underneath because I have to put it on at work, but as you say it would make your DH evaporate

There's a liquid called Halo; saw it in Tesco, Sainsbo didn't have it. haven't tried it myself but I will when DS starts secondary and I will have the sweaty sports gear to wash every week.( Nice)

They do a sports one for perspiration, grass stains and mud.
And a hygiene one which claims to kill MRSA, C Diff (E Coli ?) Don't quote me as gospel on that one, its from memory.
