Has anyone successfully recovered a sofa themselves?

Hi

I have fallen in love with a couple of old sofas. Has anyone successfully recovered sofas? I don't want loose covers I want to staple new material onto the old covers - don't want to remove the old covers as too complicated. I thought I'd steam clean them before I started...

I did exactly this with an old and very beautiful Liberty sofa that was being thrown away. Bought 2 pairs of very large curtains from MFI and a staple gun. Was actually very easy.

Thanks Sherlock that is brilliant news. I love these settees and just don't want to have to buy new ones that are not as beautiful.....
