I seem to be getting all OCD about the kitchen floor and am constantly brushing it.

How often do you brush and/or mop yours?

3 times a day here too. I am fairly slatternly by nature but I have messy children, and am a messy cook, and if I don't sweep up the remnants of the meal the baby crawls around and eats the leftovers! (sometimes I let her Grin

I'm the slattern who posted earlier, my kitchen floor is mahogany parquet, we got a man to put a surface on it so dirt can't stick to it. It can get a bit slippy in socks, but dirt seems to get swept off it as people walk on it. Just to add, we didn't put in the parquet, we found it already on the kitchen floor under some Lino.

Blush and Shock How do you all find the time?

I hoover between once a week and once a fortnight.

I wash the whole floor (don't own a mop) every 6-12 months or so. Small areas get spot cleaned if there have been visible spills or if e.g. DS has done a poo on the floor when nappy free.

When he was crawling I kept a mess mat under his chair and bundled it up on itself between meals so he couldn't eat the bits on it.

I do remove foodstuff from under the high chair with a piece of kitchen roll after most meals, though and in theory I give that bit a quick wipe down once a day, although in practice it gets done maybe every other day.

i sweep and mop my kitchen floor twice a week. looking at everybody elses responses i'll be feel quite embarrased now!

messymammy · 12/08/2011 18:05

around 7 times a day I'd say. Like less than ten but more than five... I have beige tiles and everything shows up.
And dd eats the bits leftover otherwise.Like Bumperlicious sometimes I let her (if its dry, like a cracker, ot if it's a cut apple)

I would never have thought I do anymore cleanig than enyone else, delighted to find I am more thourough (sp?) than others :o

I sweep the kitchen about twice a day, all into a corner, then sweep the pile up and put it in the bin at the end of the day. If it's weekend and DH is doing lots of cooking, I sweep up round him, hitting him with the brush.:o

It's all about not walking the bits into the rest of the house.
There is no table in the kitchen, so it's easy to do.

(nearly) never.
I have a cleaner who hooversand mops every 2 weeks and I hoover and mop the week in between.
brushing only if there is a spillage or if dustbunnies take over.
