bicarb in the washing machine?

I read that salt does a good job too, but buggers up your machine

Hang the item outside for a week?

put it on a hotter wash?

bicarb and vinegar in a bucket - I just read that Grin be interesting to see Wink

Do you use non-bio? If so, try bio instead.

Wash it inside out - the smell is often on the inside (as with socks Grin)
Soak it in a bucket of bio washing powder solution with bicarb - mebbe a slosh of vinegar too for good measure

I had the same problem with a few of my tops and a couple of my bras, even when they were just washed they had a slightly stale smell under the arms and as soon as I wore them they smelt sweaty Blush but I didn't want to throw them away, particularly the bras as they were fairly new. My husband took part in a triathlon and in the goody-bag that each competitor got was a sample sachet of a washing liquid called Halo Pro-Active Sports Wash. It's a washing liquid that can be used in a washing machine or when washing by hand (which is the only way I've used it so far) and it's BRILLIANT!!!!!!!! It is designed specifically for sports clothes to get rid of sweat and odours and is antifungal and antibacterial which presumably is the cause of the lingering smells. I used the sachet to hand-wash the two bras and they are absolutely smell-free and even when I wear them and get sweaty (Yuk emoticon!) there is no smell. I thought it might only be availbale from specialist sports shops but actually I just bought it in Tesco!! It was £3.99 for a big bottle and is well worth it! I love the smell of it too. It's brilliant! IT will definitely get your whiffy top smelling gorgeous!
