New sofas - Next or John Lewis? Leather or not?

I have saved up for new sofas. I really would like brown leather (I know, I know but I don't have twigs in a vase and no laminate floor if that makes it any better ). I am still looking around but like Next & JL. Anyone bought from them?

I think I'm going for Next over JL - I bounced on their sofas again at the weekend and wasn't convinced.

I have a brown leather sofa and laminate flooring. I even have twigs. Is that not the done thing then? Too bourgeois? I never realised it was something to apologise for - how dreadfully dull of me

I don't have laminate flooring or twigs so I don't know if that makes brown leather more acceptable? I just don't want a fabric sofa that'll look shabby within a couple of years.

I never wanted a leather sofa, but with 2 dc an 2 large dogs they seemed a practical choice . Ours is tan leather,soft matt finish , from SofaItalia. Bought rather nervously online but service was great and the sofa is fab.
